Doctor Says He Would Be Optimistic

So the nurse called me back after talking to my doctor about how my HCG didn't double in 48 hours. He said that I will be fine to wait until Monday for my ultrasound as long as I'm not having any pain or bleeding. (I'm not.)

He also told her that he would be optimistic.

For now, that's enough. I'm just going to try to relax as much as I can. All the worrying I've done in the past has never profited me.

Thank you for your encouragement and comments. A couple of blog friends told me that when the number gets so high that it doesn't always double. I looked it up online and found the same thing too. Thanks for being positive and helping to ease my mind!!

Please continue to pray for me - especially ask that I won't worry myself silly over this!!!

I'm glad your dr. is optimistic! I asgree with your blog friends. it does get to a certain point and stops doubling. It still should rise for a bit, but it doesn't double at the same rate as in the begining.

It sounds positive to me!!! they are exactly right. After getting so high they stop doubling in 48 hours rather taking 3 to 4 days and then eventually towards the end of the third trimester they start decreasing.

Hon all the other girls are write...and coming from me I experienced this first hand I know that my numbers stopped doubling after like 12,000 and according to my Dr.'s that was very normal that once the numbers are over 10,000 they dont always double so honestly I wouldnt worry...I think your numbers are Fab!!!

Oh man - the waiting is the worst. I am still thinking of you... in fact, your blog was my first 'stop' tonight!

I've also heard that the #'s stop doubling once they get really high. Here's hoping Monday gets here ASAP.

Take good care of yourself over these next few days, and let us know if there's anything we can do to help the time pass more quickly...

Praying that the Lord will give you peace throughout this weekend as you wait. Your doctor is optimistic and you aren't having any "bad" signs, so that's all good news. I have also heard that after a while those numbers don't tell you much anymore. Know that you're being thought of and prayed for!
